Described herein is a system for mapping crop lodging areas (1110) in a field. In some embodiments, a camera (220, 302) mounted to an agricultural machine (300) (e.g., a combine harvester) captures images (1102, 1202) of a crop and the field and a computing system (200) determines attributes (1108) of the crop and the field in the images (such as crop lodging areas 1110) as well as associates the attributes (1108) with geographic locations of the machine (300). The computing system (200) also generates a map (1004) of crop lodging areas (1110) based on data from the images (1102, 1202) and the geographic locations. In some embodiments, the images (1102, 1202) are geotagged and the geotagged images are used as input for the generation of the map (1004). And, in some embodiments, additional information is used in combination with the data from the from the images (1102, 1202) and the geographic locations as a basis for the generation of the map (1004).
