According to this invention, a novel technology-driven solution is provided for real time monitoring of paddy crop towards precision agriculture. It is meant for making right decisions at right time for right reasons. The invention includes field level IoT integrated infrastructure with various kinds of sensors, actuators and base station. It is integrated with Internet and cloud computing. The specialized Agro-OS for PA has PA related extensions on top of Linux kernel. The invention provides 24x7 service with automatic monitoring of paddy crop and provide user friendly information in dashboard associated with a DSS. The sensor data is stored in public cloud which is subjected to big data analytics and required business intelligence is generated. The Agro-Apps can gain access to this and provide the information in a dashboard. The system is a step towards PA with paddy crop. However, it has PA infrastructure that can be extended to other crops by changing field level setup. Thus the aim of PA to eliminate/minimize waste and increase productivity with technology-driven solution to agriculture is realized.
