The invention pertains to an advanced irrigation system(100) for optimum water management in precision agriculture. The present invention includes a gateway device(102), a sensor node(108), soil moisture sensor(114), water level sensor(116), solenoid valve(118), water flow sensor(122), water meter (124), and a cloud server(120). The soil moisture(114) and water level(116) sensors measure soil moisture and water height in the field. Data is transmitted from the sensor node (108) to the Gateway device(102) via LoRaWAN technology, which then forwards it to a cloud server(120). Simultaneously, the Gateway device monitors pipeline water using a water flow sensor(122). Irrigation is initiated based on pre-set thresholds for soil moisture and water level. The Gateway(102) activates the solenoid valve(118) when both water is detected in the source pipeline and an irrigation request is initiated. Water usage is tracked with a water meter(124). Irrigation stops when sensor readings fall below set thresholds.
