The crop is conveyed to a transport vehicle via a discharge chute (8) provided on a discharge tower (4). A device (7) for adjusting the tilt angle of the discharge chute (8) is provided for guiding the crop mass flow (5) onto the transport vehicle. The method according to the invention is characterized by detecting the force proportional to the mass of the crop mass flow (5), which acts upon the device (7) for adjusting the tilt angle of the discharge chute (8).
