The apparatus includes a mobilizer, a sampler and an analyzer. The sampler includes a collector and a preprocessor. The collector is adapted to collect one or more samples of the material / conditions to be sampled and / or measured. The preprocessor includes a closed loop dryer adapted to lower a moisture content of the one or more sample to a predetermined value, using a heat emitted from the mobilizer.
