The device and/or system further has a processor configured to determine, based upon outputs from the sensors, whether there is a fire/wildfire event or a public safety event or associated conditions. The processor is further configured to transmit data indicative of the sensors and alerts related to the fire event and/or the public safety event and/or associated conditions to one or more computing device(s) of utility personnel, authorized third parties, and/or first responders. An aggregated deployment of such fire mitigation and public safety event detection devices serves to create a web or network, thereby serving as a watchdog system within the associated deployment area(s).
