As transaction data associated with a user is received, transaction tokens are automatically minted through a decentralized distributed ledger. When a threshold amount of transaction tokens corresponding to a loyalty reward has been minted, the provided systems automatically generate a rewards token in the decentralized distributed ledger. The rewards token is redeemable for use with a merchant system, whereby when the rewards token is redeemed, the merchant system can apply the corresponding reward.
