The equipment comprises a coating cutter head, a liquid feeding mechanism which feeds liquid for the coating cutter head, a vertical driving mechanism which drives the coating cutter head to perform up and down movement, a horizontal driving mechanism which drives the coating cutter head to move forwards and backwards and a ranging mechanism which is used for detecting the height in front and back directions of the hard carrier, and the coating cutter head and the ranging mechanism are located above the hard carrier. The invention further discloses a liquid coating method for the liquid coating equipment for the hard carrier. The method comprises the steps of ranging, adjusting and coating. The equipment and the method have the advantages that the coating height can be changed according to the height of the hard carrier, and the coating effect on the hard carrier is good.
