The coded image data is decoded at a sales side terminal based on information transmitted from a server apparatus, and provided to the user. One business proprietor may manage (operate) the server apparatus and the sales side terminal as well as manufacture and sales of the digital camera. Alternatively, the consumer may use his/her own personal computer in place of the sales side terminal, to receive service to obtain image information, at a specific site provided by the server apparatus operated by the business proprietor.
