The invention discloses an atmospheric particulate concentration monitoring method and system. The system comprises a sampler set, a server and a user terminal. The sampler detects the concentration of atmospheric particulates and uploads the concentration of the particulates to the server; the server receives the particulate matter concentration uploaded by each sampler, judges whether each particulate matter concentration exceeds a preset threshold value or not, determines a pollution source based on the particulate matter concentration uploaded by other samplers in a preset range where the target sampler is located if the particulate matter concentration exceeds the preset threshold value, and sends early warning information to the user terminal; the target sampler is a sampler of which the upload particulate matter concentration exceeds a preset threshold value, and the early warning information comprises a pollution source address and the particulate matter concentration. Monitoring is carried out through the samplers installed at different positions, the pollution source is jointly determined through sampling data of the multiple samplers in the preset range, and early warning information is sent to the user terminal to be displayed. And a worker can quickly treat the particulate matters according to the displayed early warning information, so that the particulate matter treatment efficiency is improved.
