Registration data of the IoT device is pre-stored in the IoT server. When the safety authentication is required, an operation system of the IoT equipment requests registration data of the IoT hardware module from the IoT server. According to the invention, the IoT server can firstly carryout legality verification on the IoT device which initiates the request, queries the registration data of the IoT hardware module of the IoT device after verifying that the IoT device is the registered legal device, and returns the registration data to the operating system, so that the operating system can carry out safety authentication on the IoT hardware module. In the embodiment of the invention, if the hardware in the IoT equipment is attacked, the related information of the hardware module may be changed, and the embodiment of the invention can realize safety authentication of the hardware module in the IoT equipment through the above scheme so as to prevent the attack risk of the hardware module.
