According to some embodiments, a method for determining an actual occupancy of a plurality of Internet of Things (IoT) devices includes determining an actual occupancy of a first IoT device of the plurality of IoT devices. The method also includes determining whether the first IoT device having the determined actual occupancy satisfies a condition. In response to determining that the first IoT device having the determined actual occupancy does not satisfy the condition, an actual occupancy of a second IoT device of the plurality of IoT devices is determined. In response to determining that the first IoT device having the determined actual occupancy satisfies the condition, an actual occupancy of the plurality of IoT devices is determined based on the determined actual occupancy of the first IoT device.
