The method executed by an application function (AF) comprises: sending a location subscription request, wherein the location subscription request is used for requesting to subscribe the location of the IoT device, the location subscription request comprises identification information and reference sensing information of the IoT device, and the reference sensing information is used for indicating physical information of a reference object juxtaposed with the IoT device. The embodiments of the present disclosure can effectively avoid the defect in the prior art of being unable to effectively determining whether the location of an actual object juxtaposed with the IoT device is unreasonably provided or not when the location of the IoT device is provided due to the fact that only identification information of the IoT device is provided when subscription of an IoT device is requested, laying a foundation for ensuring that location information of an IoT device would not be misused.
