The present invention relates to an electromechanical system for use in an IoT (Internet of Things) padlock for its installation on the valve of a Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinder. An LPG cylinder having an IoT padlock on its valve is delivered to customers in such a way that the latter have, at their location, a full LPG cylinder featuring said IoT padlock. When customers so wish, by means of a mobile telephone in which an application has previously been installed, the customers contact the server of the gas cylinder supplier company via the internet. By means of said application, customers informs the company that they wish to open the LPG cylinder equipped with the IoT padlock on its valve and which therefore must be unlocked; to this end, payment of the value of a new gas cylinder is performed immediately, thereby generating a message to the application installed beforehand in the customer's cellphone, triggering a wireless signal via a Bluetooth connection and thereby enabling the activation of the electromechanical system to unlock the IoT padlock and to release it from the cylinder at the user's location. By this means, the padlock is removed and the user can use the LPG cylinder immediately, for example to replace an empty cylinder. In this way, a continuous consumption of LPG is obtained by the customer.
