The network system comprises a server and an IoT apparatus supporting at least two network standards, wherein the IoT apparatus is used to access a network of a first network standard, acquire specific information, and report the specific information to the server. The specific information comprises geographic location information of the IoT apparatus, and network information scanned by the IoT apparatus at the current geographic location. The server is used to determine a second network standard upon receiving the specific information reported by the IoT apparatus, and send a network switching instruction to the IoT apparatus, the network switching instruction comprising an identifier of the second network standard. The IoT apparatus is further used to switch, upon receiving the network switching instruction sent by the server, from the network of the first network standard to a network of the second network standard according to the network switching instruction. This technical solution improves flexibility of switching between network standards for IoT apparatuses.
