The method comprises the following steps: broadcasting a detection requestmessage after the IOT device is powered on, and enabling the detection request message to carry an recognition of the IOT device; if the WIFI router response detection request message exists, the IOTequipment receives a response message returned by the WIFI router, and the response message is a message carrying an encrypted WIFI router identifier and returned by the WIFI router having a bindingrelationship with the identifier of the IOT equipment; wherein the binding relationship in the WIFI router is information which is acquired from the cloud server in advance and is used for representing association between the IOT equipment and the WIFI router; the IOT device decrypts the encrypted WIFI router identifier according to a preset decryption algorithm to obtain a WIFI router identifier;and the IOT equipment is automatically connected with the WIFI router according to the WIFI router identifier. According to the method, automatic connection between the IOT equipment and the router can be realized, the convenience of a user is improved, and the use experience of the user is improved.
