The internet of things system comprises an NB-IoT-based Internet of Things reading module which is used for being disposed in an electric box of each power consumption unit, and reading the power consumption information displayed on an electric meter, an identity information marking module which is connected with the NB-IoT-based Internet of Things reading modules and binds each NB-IoT-based Internet of Things reading module with the identity information and the mailbox of the corresponding power consumption unit, an NB-IoT Internet of Things connection module which is connected with the NB-IoT Internet of Things reading module and the identity information marking module and is used for connecting the NB-IoTInternet of Things reading modules, and sending the identity information, the mailbox and the electricity consumption data of each electricity consumption unit transmitted by the NB-IoT-based Internet of Things reading module, and an IoT electric meter accounting module which is connected with the NB-IoT connecting module and is used for carrying out billing calculation on the electricity consumption data of each electricity consumption unit according to the stored billing rules to obtain billing data of the electricity consumption units. The internet of things system can reduce manpower input during charging and collecting.
