In the present application, an NB-IoT communication module with all the functions of an intelligent gas meter embedded into same is used. The NB-IoT communication module is a gas-meter-dedicated NB-IoT communication module, in which a gas meter mechanical pulse counting gas meter, a direct reading program, a pulse counting module and program, an extensible interface and program, a valve driving module, a stepped gas price charging unit, a timer, a liquid crystal display screen, an input module, etc., and an NB-IoT communication function are integrated into an MCU chip. The present application has the advantages of convenient use, low power consumption, a small size, higher reliability, etc., and has higher practical significance in the field of intelligent gas meters; and the metering accuracy thereof is improved by means of an infrared sensor and a meter.
