The electronic device comprises: a communication interface; a memory on which information about a package IoT device corresponding to each of one or more IoT devices is stored; and one or more processors for: identifying, on the basis of the received sensing data, whether a user is located within a preset distance from a first IoT device if sensing data corresponding to movement of the user is received from the first IoT device through the communication interface; identifying, on the basis of the information stored in the memory, a second IoT device, which is a package IoT device of the first IoT device, if it is identified that the user is located within the preset distance from the first IoT device; and transmitting, to the second IoT device, through the communication interface, a control signal for waking-up the second IoT device.
