Provided are a method for setting a dynamic safety range to prevent an accident in a system that controls collision risk of a mobile IoT device to which an IoT device is attached and a system thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the dynamic safety range setting system comprises: a communication unit that collects location information from one or more mobile IoT devices; a storage unit that classifies each collected location information for each mobile IoT device and stores them; and a processor that infers movement characteristics of a mobile IoT device based on real-time location information for a specific mobile IoT device and historical data of location information stored over a certain period of time and sets a safety range of the corresponding mobile IoT device based on an inference result of the movement characteristics. As a result, a system for controlling collision risk of a mobile IoT device to which an IoT device is attached reflects external environmental information and object movement characteristics of the mobile IoT device in real time to dynamically change an area of the safety range, thereby effectively preventing an accident.
