The invention is applied to the technical field of the Internet of Things, and provides a communication switching system and switching method for NB-IoT equipment. The system comprises a current NB-IoT base station, a candidate NB-IoT base station, the NB-IoT equipment and an NB-IoT base station controller; the current NB-IoT base station and the candidate NB-IoT base station are each used for uploading the total uplink bandwidth, the uplink occupied bandwidth, the total downlink bandwidth, the downlink occupied bandwidth, the accessed NB-IoT equipment number and the received NB-IoT equipmentsignal intensity of the base station; and the NB-IoT base station controller is used for receiving the total uplink bandwidths, the uplink occupied bandwidths, the total downlink bandwidths, the downlink occupied bandwidths, the accessed NB-IoT equipment numbers and the received NB-IoT equipment signal intensities which are uploaded by the current NB-IoT base station and the candidate NB-IoT basestation, generating a switching coefficient by adopting an NB-IoT equipment switching model and sending Internet of Things switching information to the current NB-IoT base station and the candidate NB-IoT base station if the switching coefficient is higher than a preset switching threshold to enable the candidate NB-IoT base station to access the NB-IoT equipment. Accordingly, the efficiency thatthe NB-IoT equipment switches the NB-IoT base station is improved.
