Provided are an artificial intelligence IoT edge computing apparatus for efficient management of IoT public lightings that are solar street lamps, and a big data service platform system using same. The artificial intelligence IoT edge computing apparatus, according to embodiments of the present invention, comprises: an image collection unit which collects image information about an area where an IoT lighting apparatus is installed; a communication unit which collects, from the IoT lighting apparatus, information about whether a malfunction has occurred, whether the light is on, and the brightness when the light is on; and a processor which inputs the collected image information to a deep learning model in which a function of detecting an object in an image has been trained, detects an object in the area where the IoT lighting apparatus is installed, and controls whether to turn on the IoT lighting apparatus and the level of brightness according to whether an object is detected. Therefore, by controlling whether to turn on the IoT lighting apparatus and the level of brightness according to whether an object is detected in the area where the IoT lighting apparatus, which is a solar street lamp, is installed, the IoT lighting apparatus may be efficiently managed, and the number of sunless days may be smoothly handled.
