An adaptive IoT service providing method in preparation for a database failure comprises: a step in which an IoT platform receives first profile information for an IoT device from a database; a step in which the IoT platform stores the first profile information in a storage device; a step in which the IoT platform monitors state information of the database; a step in which the IoT platform operates in a first mode if the IoT platform can access the database, and operates in a second mode if the IoT platform cannot access the database; a step in which the IoT platform reads the first profile information stored in the storage device in the second mode and uses information received from the IoT device to generate service data; and a step in which the IoT platform updates the first profile information with second profile information based on information generated in a process of generating the service data.
