Fuente: WIPO "organic farming"
A method for treating soil in situ or ex situ to reduce the concentration of contaminating or polluting organic chemical compounds is provided. The method comprises steps of: a) determining a contaminated/polluted area where soil is to be treated; b) adding a fertilizer in the form of warm-composted manure or other compost having a nutrient content corresponding to warm composted manure and in which the nutrients are correspondingly hard bound to the compost to a soil layer in the area, the fertilizer being added in an amount of 10% (weight percentage) or more of soil of the soil layer; c) adding iron, unless the soil of the soil layer already comprises at least 2 kg of iron per ton of soil; d) adjusting soil pH to an acidic pH; and e) keeping the soil of the soil layer moist by adding water as needed for a predetermined period.
