The functional chicken feed additive includes the steps of: culturing a Cordyceps militaris strain using forage insects as a medium; drying and crushing the cultured Cordyceps militaris to use the same as a feed additive for chickens; and manufacturing a product by adding 1 to 5 parts by weight of the feed additive to 100 parts by weight of grain feed, wherein Ptecticus tenebrifer, crickets or Tenebrio molitor are used as the forage insects.
