Spray - producers.-Relates to apparatus for distributing disinfectants or deodorants, for spraying or spotting tobacco plants in the field, or for spraying tobacco in warehouses. A receptacle B for containing the liquid to be sprayed is provided with an air pump P by means of which air can be forced into the vessel B, for use afterwards for forcing out the liquid through a pipe 18 and spraying-nozzle 24. The delivery valve of the air pump consists of a rubber tube 17 closing over holes 12. The pump is worked by a handle 16. In the smaller form of apparatus shown in Fig. 1, which is intended for warehouse use, the tube 18 is connected to the vessel B by a plug valve V, which cuts off the discharge when the tube is turned into a vertical position. It is held in the vertical position by a spring. A cock V is used to adjust the flow. The liquid is sprayed by a truncated conical obstruction 25 in front of the discharge orifice. In the larger form of apparatus shown in Fig. 2, which is intended for use in the field, the discharge pipe is made longer, the flow is cut off by a spring-closed valve opened by a thumb lever 21, and is regulated by a cock 19.
