The metal stud has a pair of opposed flanges and a central web joining the flanges. The web is provided with at least one opening to receive a bridging member passing there through. The web is provided with a bendable tab attached at a bottom of the opening to the web of the stud and parallel to and displaced out of the plane of the web of the stud. The tab is adapted to be bent to a position at right angles to the web for attachment to a bridging member.
