21,484. Rice, W. S. Oct. 6. Trusses.-In a truss for hernia, the pad is clamped to its support so that it may y b adjusted, by rotating or sliding longitudinally, after the body straps have been fitted to the wearer. A washer 23 may be inserted behind it to increase the pressure inwards, and an extension 24 may be provided to prevent displacement. One end of the body strap is buckled to an extension of a head 10, and the other is provided with two small adjustable straps which engage with studs 17. In an opening in the head 10 is a plate 31 provided with prongs 33 which engage in notches in a disc 19, preferably held in place by the studs 17. A screw 35 passes through a longitudinal slot in the plate 31 and holds the washer and pad in any position, the plate and pad being rotatable about the screw when it is loosened. The horn 24 has upwardty-extending ears which are fastened by screws to the washer 23 or pad 21. A breech strap is secured to the body strap, and passes through a loop 27 to the lower stud 17.
