Incandescent vapour lamps.-A vapour burner for heating or lighting, of the kind in which the vaporizer is heated by concentrating the consumed gas upon it, is constructed with a vaporizer which is detachably connected by a coupling means. The vaporizer is supported by an arm, which is connected to or forms part of the globe-holder. As shown, the vaporizer is used with a series of inverted incandescent burners i, which are arranged below a funnel-shaped concentrator h connected to a flange g on a ring f on a globe-holder e which is supported by arms d. The vaporizer j is connected by a coupling to a feed-pipe m leading to the fuel valve s, which is cone-shaped and is actuated by a handle. The pipe m is provided with a flange o which is bolted to an arm d, and the pipe m, or the outer surface o' of the flange, is screw-threaded to receive the member v, Figs. 1 and 3, of the coupling. The member w of the coupling screws into the vaporizer j, and is formed at one end with a flange w to make a tight joint. The other end w of the member w is preferably of frusto-conical shape. In assembling the parts the member w is screwed into the vaporizer, and the part to' is inserted through a slot v into the member v. The member v is polygonal, and is rotated by hand or by a tool so as to cause an end plate v on it to force the part w into air-tight connexion with the pipe m. In disconnecting the coupling, the joint between the parts m', w is adapted to be broken only when the parts v, w contact. The vaporizer is formed with a groove x which rests on a grooved support y attached to the ring f. The vapour passes from a nipple d' to a mixing- tube f, which receives air from an inlet j in a frame covering k supported by a flange e on the ring f. The mixture passes through tubes a, k to a coupling l connected to a series of burners i.
