5485. Miller, W. V., Rice, G. P., and Dunn, E. B. March 5. Kinematographic apparatus.-Relates to an intermittent feed for the ribbon, which is locked at the end of each movement. In the plan shown in Fig. 1, the ribbon A is fed downwards by a pair of toothed wheels D, D which gear into perforations in the side of the ribbon. The wheels D, D' are moved forward step by step by a lever G, G on the hollow axis F which is oscillated by a cam groove I. The teeth on G are thrown out of and into gear with the wheels D, D', and also alternately with a stop on the opposite side of the wheels, by a cam P acting through a double bellcrank lever N. The two cams I and P are so arranged that the wheels D, D' are fed on during one quarter of a revolution, and remain looked for the rest of the time.1>1>1>1>
