Moulding earthenware p i p e s. - Apparatus for flanging, socketing, or otherwise shaping the ends of earthenware pipes consists of a central rotating shaft A, Figs. 1, 2, and 3, on which are mounted three heads M, D, B respectively connected, by rods O and jointed rods R, with shapers N for broadening out the end of the pipe, by rods V, lower head B and jointed rods J with internal profile shapers E, and by jointed rods G wit h external profile shapers C. The rods V pass through heads D, B and a guide P carried by the shaft, and the jointed rods R move freely in slotted guides S adjustably secured to slides S mounted on rods F fitted to a central block T fixed to the shaft. The shapers C, E are carried by blocks C, E, sliding on rods F, the blocks also bearing knives W to trim the top of the pipe. The shapers C, E may be carried by slides U, U' and slide bars U, U, Figs. 6 and 7, depending from rods F. The pipe is brought under the machine, and the head M lowered to bring the shapers N on to the pipe, after which it is raised again and the shapers E, C brought into position, by adjusting the heads D, B, as shown in Figs. 9 and 10. Water may be used to prevent sticking, and revolving shapers E, C may be employed.1>3>2>1>1>1>1>1>
