An Improvement in Socks Stockings and the like

2297. Holroyd, G. B. Jan. 30. Stockings and socks have a second sole attached only at the sides, or in addition at one end, and forming a pocket open at one or both ends, for receiving a sock of cork, asbestos, &c. As shown in Fig. 3, the outer sole is attached to the inner from A to D and from B to C, and is unattached from A to B and from C to D. One of the open ends, however, may be closed up.
