Scaffolding and staging.-A collapsable platform, for painters, house decorators, window cleaners, and others, is shown in position on a window sill in Fig. 1. The base 1, wider at its outer than at its inner end, is supported by struts 24,10, adjustable catches 22, and a cross-bar 8, attached to rods 7 sliding in slots in the base 1. The guard consists of a hinged frame 17 to which are attached, by hinged rods 18, two uprights 19, whose lower ends slide in slots and are fixed by split-pins 21. A smaller platform 13, provided with hinged struts 14, is pivoted to the frame 17, and, when not in use, is held vertically by a catch 15 taking in a hole 16.
