The platform 8 is mounted on the frames and supported by the beams 11 which are connected with the vertical rods 20. The horizontal scale beam 37 is rigidly attached to the rods, the fulcrum 38 being movable along the beam. The beam 23 is mounted on the frame ; it is pivoted to the rod 20, and carries the counterbalancing and tare movable weights 29 and 30. The price beam 32 is engaged by the fulcrum 38 of the scale beam 37, and has upwardlydisposed knife-edges bearing against the frame. The main scale beam has two parallel portions 42 and 43, and is connected to the price beam by the links 41. The arrangement may be adapted to a balance by the removal of one pan.
