The present disclosure is also related to and describes novel peptides called Omega Variant Peptides (OVPs), which are non-natural peptide variations based upon the wild-type Omega-ACTX-Hvla protein and the non-natural recombinant protein, GS+Omega-ACTX-Hvla. Here, we describe: genes encoding OVPs; combinations, mixtures, and compositions comprising OVP peptides and/or pesticidal proteins; and methods using the same that are useful for the control of pests such as Varroa mites.
