Fuente: WIPO "varroa" The invention provides a method for controlling growth of a pathogen of bees, the method comprising providing a culture of a fungus inside, or proximate to a beehive, wherein the culture is positioned to be contacted by the bees to effect control of growth of the pathogen. The invention also provides for a device locatable at the entrance or exit (or both) of an insect colony. The device comprises an entranceway in communication with a passageway extending to first openings into an insect nest, and an exitway in communication with the passageway extending from the first openings or second openings out of the nest. Interposed between the entranceway and exitway, and the first openings or second openings, is a region receivable or supportable of an inoculum. The invention also provides the method for controlling growth of a pathogen of bees wherein the culture is provided in the device.
