FIELD: veterinary medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparations that have an insecticidal effect in order to prevent parasitic diseases. The medicine for preventing the occurrence of invasive diseases caused by ticks of the genus Varroa, includes thymol, coconut oil, essential oil of fir and beeswax in the following ratio (wt.%): 3.2–3.4 of thymol, 34.4–34.6 of coconut oil, 15.6–15.8 of fir essential oil, 46.4–46.6 of beeswax. The medicine for preventing the occurrence of invasive diseases is preferably prepared in the form of an acaricidal strip. The method of the medicine manufacturing involves adding beeswax to a heat-resistant flask placed in a water bath at a temperature of 55–60°C, then after the transition of the wax into a liquid state and reaching a temperature of 55–60°C, with constant stirring with a glass rod, coconut oil is introduced into the flask in a thin stream, preheated to a temperature of 50–55°C, and mixed until a homogeneous consistency is reached. Then, gradually, in fractional portions, fir essential oil is added to the flask, 0.5–1.0 each, with constant stirring with a glass rod until a homogeneous consistency is reached. Then, thymol is introduced into the flask in fractions of 0.5–1.0 g with constant stirring with a glass rod until a homogeneous consistency is reached, after which the flask is removed from the water bath, and its contents are poured into a flat cuvette transferred to a water bath. The contents of the cuvette are heated to 60–65°C and prepared strips of softwood 20 cm long, 5 cm wide, 0.4 cm thick are impregnate for 3–5 minutes by immersing in the prepared composition.
EFFECT: proposed medicine for preventing the occurrence of parasitic diseases caused by ticks of the genus Varroa is highly effective, affects the target pest only, has a low cost, and also provides effective protection against re-infection.
