Specifically, the invention provides for the treatment or prevention of European or American foulbrood or chalkbrood. In addition, the invention provides methods for controlling Varroa mites that can weaken a hive or act as vectors for bacterial diseases. In further embodiments, the invention provides for the treatment or prevention of hive infestations with Lepidopteran pests, such as the wax moth (Galleria mellonella).
