Order apparatus.- The receiver comprises a number of screens with a set of projecting lanterns for each screen for projecting different symbols, the lamps being connected by separate wires to the transmitter. In the form shown for transmitting numbers, separate screens are provided for units, tens, hundreds &c. and for each screen ten lanterns are provided, each comprising an electric lamp a, condenser k, diaphragm e and projecting lens p. The diaphragms of each set are perforated with the numerals 0--9, respectively and the lanterns project these numerals on to the screen 1 either directly or by means of a mirror m as shown. The transmitter preferably comprises contact arms rotatable over sets of contacts connected to the lamps, transfer mechanism being employed between the different arms preferably arranged to allow each arm to be set independently. Connexion to the lamps is made through plungercontacts g carried by the cover. The condensers k may be replaced by diffusing-screens. In the Provisional Specification it is stated that the controlling-switches may be located at the receiver and be operated by the step-by-step order-telegraph apparatus.
