Protractors. -When the range and bearing of a target are known the course of the target is plotted on a travelling sheet 105, moving at a rate proportional to that of the observing ship and marked with a line representing the course of such ship, while a time record is automatically stamped on it. The arm 108 is swung to the bearing angle and a pointer 111 adjusted along the arm to the range when a pricker 112 is operated. The mean line is drawn through the series of marks 115 thus produced.
