The straps that pass between the spokes of the steering wheel and are then fastened together using fasteners (13, 14) and the ends (15) are tightened so that the cover is securely held over the airbag fascia to substantially prevent unexpected deployment of the airbag from expanding beyond the cover and injuring a person in the vehicle in such a manner that access is maintained to substantially the whole of the rim of the steering wheel.
