A composition for oral, parenteral or rectal administration for use in the treatment of animals before mating to influence the sex and for the qualities of the issue, comprises a mineral constituent, a vitamin constituent and royal jelly. The mineral constituent consists of two or more metals e.g. gold, silver, iron, copper, sodium, zinc, cobalt, magnesium, manganese and nickel provided in a form suitable for assimilation by the animal being treated e.g. as water-soluble salts. The vitamin constituent means a mixture of vitamins e.g. Vitamins A, D, E, K, C and B. Optional ingredients are corn germ oil, novocaine and its derivatives, cocaine, desoxy ribonucleic acid, hormones, antibiotics, sulphonamides and living cells. The composition may be used as a solution in water, alcohol or oil but may be mixed with a solid carrier. Concentrates may be added to the animal food or drink.
