The trap comprises first and second screens 5, 10 which allow passage of worker bees there through but prevent passage of queen and drone bees. The first screen is associated with one way funnel means 11 that allow passage of queen and drone bees and as a consequence queen and drone bees are trapped between the two screens. The trap can be alternately situated so that it does not directly interfere with the worker bees hive entrance.
