Fecha de publicación: 08/08/2007 Fuente: WIPO "propolis" PURPOSE: A method for preparing an extracted propolis using prethanol A is provided to obtain more flavonoid ingredient compared to a method using ethanol or fermented alcohol solution.CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of: (a) after mixing a dried solid powder prepared by crushing collected masses of propolis at a temperature of less than -4 deg.C using a crusher, dipping the powder in cold water for 30-60 minutes to remove impurities therefrom and then drying it with a solvent consisting of 70-76% of prethanol and 25-30% of distilled water in a ratio of 1:2, homogenizing the mixture using a homogenizer with the speed of 7,000 rpm to extract a propolis suspension; (b) centrifuging the suspension using a tubular centrifuge to divide it into supernatant and solid powder; (c) filtering the supernatant at low temperature using filter papers no. 1, 3, 5, and 4 having a size of 110 millimeters; and (d) removing wax from the filtrate obtained from the step(c) and then drying it using a dryer not to change the content of the propolis.© KIPO 2007
