A method for the preparation of an aqueous dispersion of propolis useful for dispersing propolis in food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical products, comprising: mixing crude propolis with a lower alkyl alcohol while heating to approximately 30-60C! obtaining an alcohol non-soluble fraction of propolis and an alcohol soluble fraction and discarding the non-soluble fraction, evaporating the said alcohol, collecting the resulting resinous solid propolis extract and mixing said propolis extract with surfactants, in an aqueous liquid thus obtaining an aqueous dispersion of propolis.
