At the end of the cigarette body that smoker puts into the mouth is fitted a classical filter. With regard to the insert granulation and shape, cigarettes with inserts made from pure propolis are produced in four variants: - cigarette with insert made from pure propolis shaped as a single long and thin cylinder; - cigarette with insert made from pure propolis shaped as several small and short cylinders; - cigarette with insert made from pure propolis shaped as a number of small pellets; - cigarette with insert made from pure propolis shaped as a number of small irregular granules. Propolis has been used since the oldest times for various purposes, and especially as a medicine against the harmful effects of tobacco nicotine and tar. Propolis is a resin-like material, yellow-green, brown to dark red or black coloured. At temperatures above 30 °C propolis is a soft sticky mass, whereas below 15 °C it is solid. It is of dense and inhomogeneous structure. Cigarettes with inserts made from pure propolis are of standard length and diameter. The content of pure propolis in a cigarette relative to tobacco is 10-15 %, and the weight of the insert is 0.04 - 0.07 grams per cigarette.
