Screw propellers.- Sheet-metal blades are bent at the roots into S or Z form, the flanges thereof being disposed to take the hub fixing bolts, each of which passes through overlapping parts of the roots of adjacent blades. In a threebladed propeller, the blades 1, 2, 3 Are formed with Z-shaped roots, and the front edge of the blade overlaps the rear edge of the blade 2, a distance-piece 4, two end boss plates 5, 6, and a tubular rivet 7 completing the assembly. The rear edge of blade 1 overlaps the front edge of blade 3 and the same tubular rivet assembly is employed. Bolts may be used in place of rivets, and a laminated blade replace single piece blades.
