A floatable soap comprises an admixture of soap or substances which will form soap in situ, and vinegar. The ingredients are heated and mixed with stirring to form a cream which is poured into a suitable mould to allow the mixture to harden. A mixture of fat and sodium hydroxide may be used instead of the soap. If desired, an oil may be incorporated into the mixture.
