Field magnets.-Field - magnet windings for series-wound dynamo-electric machines are made of a copper strip coiled into a ring or bobbin with the turns suitably insulated from each other. As shown, the copper strip b is wound on the grooved non-inflammable former c, which is lined with an insulating non-inflammable material. Insulating- strips e wider than the strip bare wound with it, and it is secured by a cover-strip f and wire g. The former c may be partitioned into several compartments, each with its copper strip.
