Filing papers &c.- Relates to looking- mechanism for loose-leaf binders, and is particularly applicable to binders of the type described in Specification No. 26,118, A.D. 1904. The plate c carries internally-toothed pillars g into which telescope rods h having slots i in which are situated pivoted pawls j. The pawls are acted on by springs k, which tend constantly to keep them in engagement with the teeth of the pillar g. The pawls are moved out of engagement by means of spring pressed plungers l. The binder is locked by raising the plungers l by cam-slides o on a slide m operated by a stud m. The stud m may be protected by a plate locked in position over it.1>1>
